Vino Wine Room - Encino

Vino in the Valley!

Vino Wine Room is one of my favorite happy hour places in the Valley.  I found it online a little less than a year ago. Their site showed their great happy hour selection, but I had a sense that the place might be so-so or maybe kind of old. Boy... was I wrong!  The place is very nice.  There are some comfy leather couches and a decent amount of tables lit by candlelight. Towards the back, you'll find a nice large bar.

Their happy hour selection is also quite nice.  They offer 17 different wines from $4-6 and they also offer champagne, mimosas, sangria, and saketini for $4.  Along with the wine, they serve up 17 different tapas ($2.50 - $7). Some items are a good bargain... some are not.
Here are some things I have tried:
Now one of my favorites things to get is not on the HH menu, but on the regular menu.... the Bacon Wrapped Dates stuffed with goat cheese ($4). Since they are less than $5 it's definitely worth mentioning.

-Slider w/ fries ($4) - Another favorite. Usually cooked to perfection.
-Champinònes ($4) - One of my favorites. Mushrooms sauteed with white wine, herbs, and butter and served with crostinis. The amount of crostinis is always changing which is a bit annoying. Once had a good amount, my friend said a few months ago she got two pieces, and this last time I got three.
-Croquetas - ($5) Potato croquettes filled with chicken served with a tomato alioli. They are great and you get three of them.
-Parmesan Zucchini ($4) - They're good but wish they came with a sauce.
-Pickles frito ($4) - Fried breaded pickles. Yes, you read that right. FRIED PICKLES. Love 'em!
-Judias Verdes ($4) - Green beans sauteed with turkey bacon, roasted bell peppers, onion, and garlic.
-Shrimp Pincho ($2.50) - One grilled shrimp with mango salsa. Good, but expensive for just one.
-Eggplant Crujiente ($3) - Crispy eggplant drizzled with honey.  I think they were baked. The size was good for the cost.  I wasn't a huge fan, but others are.
-Empanadilla ($3) - Filled chicken and manchego cheese. Good, but you only get one.

Now one of my favorites things to get is not on the HH menu, but on the regular menu.... the Bacon Wrapped Dates stuffed with goat cheese ($4).  Mmmmmm. The regular menu has some pretty good prices, so check that out, too!
