Bacaro L.A. is a cute, little wine bar with some great food and wine. Their happy hour runs Monday - Thursday from 5-7pm with all plates for just $5. But the time to hit their happy hour is definitely on a Monday. Every Monday, glasses of wine are half off all night long, along with the $5 plate special.
Bacaro has a nice selection of red, white, and sparkling wines ranging from $6 - $9. So yes, that means on a Monday you can get a nice wine for only $3.00. The wine here is good, but I wouldn't say I've been overly impressed. But compared to happy hour wines at other places, they're very nice.
The food at Bacaro is what I go for. Their happy hour price for food is $5 a plate (normally $7 a plate or 3 for $19) and the food is de-lish! My last venture to Bacaro was with my friend, Minty. On this trip, we ordered the Bruschetta, the Roasted Cauliflower with chipotle sauce, the Open-Faced Burger, and the Seared Scallops. My favorites were the Roasted Cauliflower and the Burger. The Cauliflower was roasted perfectly and the chipotle sauce gave it a nice little spicy kick. The Burger got a bit messy, but it was cooked perfectly and I loved the sauce. The Bruschetta and the Scallops were good, but they couldn't beat the other two dishes.

Although we were stuffed, we ended with one of my favorite desserts, Bread Pudding topped with vanilla ice cream. Oooooh baby, that was good! Definitely order that if you go!

The staff at Bacaro is always nice and very helpful. It's a small wine bar, so it wouldn't hurt to make reservations. Another great thing Bacaro has is their "Beefsteak Sunday". The first Sunday of each month, they offer "all you can eat" grilled hanger steak, bread, butter, and roasted market potatoes with all you can drink red wine and beer for only $25! All you can eat AND drink????? That's a deal! But definitely bring a designated driver or call a cab. Safety first, people!!!
