I love DTLA! So recently, I hooked back up with my favorite DTLA happy hour partner-in-crime, The Minty, at Bar | Kitchen in the O Hotel. We had been there before but not since the release of their new food and cocktail menu.
The "eats" on their happy hour isn't a huge selection but there are items on their regular bar menu that are priced very reasonably.
Food on Happy Hour Menu
"Shared Plates" in regular menu
In fact... since their regular prices were so good, we went with only one item on the happy hour menu (the Truffle Fries) and the rest was from the regular menu. Our Truffle Fries were definitely my favorite, but I really loved all four dishes that we ordered.
Truffle Fries $4
My favorite!!

Bacon Wrapped Dates $6
Mexican Shrimp $8
Swiss Chard/Artichoke Gratin $6
And for the drinks, there's a nice selection offered including 3 specialty cocktails. My favorite was definitely The Brown Derby.
Brown Derby $7
My fave!
Bourbon, Fresh Grapefruit Juice, Honey
Negroni $7
Gin, Campari, Sweet Vermouth, Orange Twist
Mirror Pond Pale Ale $4
Whiskey Neat $6
Bar | Kitchen is definitely now on my top 5 list of DTLA happy hours and I can't wait to go back for those fries!!!
And check out The Minty's take on the night featuring more specialty cocktails.

Truffle AND cheese AND bacon, all at the same time, on fries? Sounds like perfection!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, gotta check this place out soon!
Right??? It's re-donk-u-lus!
ReplyDelete:-D
Those truffle fries look to die for!! Gotta check this place out...
ReplyDeleteHowdy!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see another post. :o) I went to Bar | Kitchen just the other day and I totally agree with you; this place rocks.
And those fries, a definite must have.
If you haven't already (or for anyone who isn't in the know) hit up Liquor .com within the next 12 days and you can snag a certificate for one of their cocktails for a measly $3.50 It's not a huge savings but why pay full price, ya know?
Anyway, nice post as always. Have yourself a tremendous weekend, Vix. Ta-ta!
I was sold with the Swiss Chard/Artichoke Gratin! Looks devine! I have never been to happy our DTLA, but I will certainly have to check this one out!
ReplyDeleteahhhh, when are we going back!?
ReplyDeleteI will ask Charile about the well whiskey next time I'm there.
