So my hunt for great happy hours just keeps getting better and better. Not only did we find one with a beautiful ocean view, but at Loews Hotel in Santa Monica you can have your own fire pit! It was truly a fantastic time.

Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel offers a variety of cocktails, wine, champagne and appetizers for just $6 each from 5-8pm daily. Their outside lounge section for non-guests is on the hotel's oceanfront lower deck which has an amazing view.

After enjoying the view for a few minutes, we hit the drink menu. All happy hour drinks are $6 and our choices were Sangria, red or white wine, champagne, imported bottled beer, domestic bottled beer (2 for $6), or a house blended cocktails such as a margarita or Piña Colada. I stuck mostly to champagne (which I was very happy with) but I did get to try everyone drinks. The Piña Colada was my favorite of the blended cocktails. It was very tasty and thick like a milk shake. Perfect for the summer! The Red Wine and Sangria could be improved.

After our first drink, we ordered up some food. One of each actually. Loews offers a nice selection to choose from. Check it out:

Spicy Big Eye Tuna Tacos

Crisps Wontons filled spicy tuna and seaweed salad

and provided good texture.

 Crispy Calamari w/ Tamari Citrus Sauce

One of the best calamari I've had.

Very light and the sauce was delicious.

We liked every dish except maybe the hummus. My favorites were the Tuna Tacos and the Calamari. But definitely give them all a try.

We were very happy with our drinks and food, the best part of this happy hour was our own personal fire pit. And once the sun went down, yes happy hour was over but we kept the party going. I mean drinks around the fire pit??? How could we leave???

Loews Hotel is definitely a new favorite on my happy hour list and I can't wait to go back. I'd even go back after happy hour and enjoy some drinks around the fire pit.
